Entertainment Desk: Harry and Meghan – the estranged royal couple – made several accusations against the royal institution and the British media in the second part of their ongoing documentary series in Netflix.
As seen in the official trailer, which was released on Sunday, 11 December 2022, the documentary highlighted how the royal institution prevented Harry and Meghan from leading a normal life and how the British media tried to spread ‘misinformation’ about their lives and treated them like ‘rogue royals’.
Accusing the press of giving them negative publicity, Prince Harry said in the documentary that he was particularly upset to see the ‘institutional gaslighting’ against him and Meghan and how the media were ‘happy to lie’ in order to protect his brother but not them.
By sharing a selfie video of boarding a flight which he termed as the ‘freedom flight’, the Duke of Sussex also hinted that he felt strangled and insecure inside the royal institution and badly wanted to get out of it with Meghan.
Further he also stated that he had wondered what would have happened to them had they not taken this decision and got out when they did. ‘It was a fight worth fighting for’, he added.
Likewise, indicating that she was subjected to racism, Meghan Markle revealed that she was not just being ‘thrown to the wolves’ within the royal family, but she was ‘fed to the wolves’.
Meghan also said that their decision to leave their royal duties helped them to free themselves and live the life thy always dreamt of.
The latest documentary which mostly focuses on how Harry and Meghan craved for freedom for themselves and for the sake of their children has become the centre of controversy within the British media.
The second part of the documentary is releasing globally on Netflix on 15 December.
