G20 Summit: World leaders Condemn Russia, Zelenskyy urges allies for more military help

Global Desk: The G20 summit begin in Bali, Indonesia on Tuesday 15 November 2022.

World leaders comprising head of states of the participating countries arrived in Bali to discuss various economic and social issues of global importance. Besides, leaders from 10 invited states, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also participated in the event.

Among other issues, the summit mainly focussed on the Ukraine war. Its leaders collectively condemned the actions of Russia and its concomitant impact on the global economy.

President Zelenskyy also interacted in the summit through a virtual address and urged the G19 leaders to help Ukraine to end the invasion attempt by Russia.

He also condemned Russia’s nuclear threats and its attack on energy infrastructure, food and water supply to Ukraine and the global supply chain.

Additionally, he also appealed the allies for providing further military assistance to continue defending itself from Russian aggression.

Russian politician Sergey Lavrov also participated in the even on behalf of Russia. In his statement, he accused Ukraine declining the negotiations and proposing some unrealistic conditions in front of them.

G20, which comprises of the group of 19 developed and emerging economics along with the European Union hold a roundtable summit which takes place at least once in a year.

The aim of this summit is to discuss the major global issues in concerning economics, peace, climate change and find solutions for the same.

India is scheduled to host the next G20 summit in 2023.
