Sports Desk: The ICC T20 Cricket World Cup ended in Melbourne on Sunday. In the final match England defeated Pakistan by five wickets.
After winning the toss England captain Jos Buttler decided to bowl first and restricted the opposition to 137 for 8 wickets. Shan Masood was the highest scorer of the Pakistan batting innings with his score of 38 runs in 28 balls. While Sam Curran took 3 wickets of 12 runs.
In reaction to Pakistan’s target, England lost an early wicket but maintained a better run rate and chased the target with one over still left. Ben Stokes was the highest scorer of the innings with his 52 runs.
This is the second T20 world cup title for England after 2010 and second world cup win after their 50 over win in the 2019 edition held in England and Wales.
England fast bowler Sam Curran was declared both the man of the match and player of the tournament for his resounding performances throughout the world cup.
