Global Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Bangladesh Prime Minster Sheikh Hasina in New Delhi on Tuesday.
During the talks between both the leaders, they covered issues related to terrorism, water management, IT, nuclear energy, climate change, power transmission, economics and so forth.
Besides, they also signed an important agreement on water sharing from Kushiyara river that will benefit southern Assam in India’s north east and the Sylhet area of Bangladesh.
In a statement, Modi said that Bangladesh is India’s biggest developmental partner in the south Asian region and its friendship will hopefully touch further heights in the coming 25 years.
Similarly, Sheikh Hasina said that Indo-Bangladesh bilateral relationship is “role-model for neighbourhood diplomacy”.
Further she also appreciated the visionary leadership of Narendra Modi and said that this bilateral discussion will benefit the people of both the countries.
Sheikh Hasina landed in India on Monday for a four-day bilateral visit, marking her first visit after a gap of three years.
Hasina arrived at the Palam International Airport in New Delhi on Monday where she was received by Darshana Joshi, Minister of State, Railways, Textile and other officials.
In the remaining part of the visit she will also be signing a number of developmental projects beneficial to both the sides starting from railways to science and technology.
