Ronaldo’s message to his teammates after win over Arsenal
Sports Desk: Portuguese talisman Cristiano Ronaldo has thanked his Manchester United teammates for their resounding victory over Arsenal in the Premier League match held on Sunday.
After having played as a substitute in most of the matches so far this season under the leadership of new manager Erik ten Hag, Ronaldo took on to the social media to express his happiness over his teams’ performances in the recent matches where he has mostly been active at the bench.
Further, he also thanked the United’s fans for sticking in support of the team despite the clubs below par performance since the last season that prevented them from qualifying for the Champions League after several years.
“Well done, lads! And a very special thank you to our supporters! Let’s go, Devils!”, he said.
On Sunday, Manchester United defeated Arsenal 3-1 and extended their winning streak to four consecutive wins after losing their first two games of the season in the hands of even newly promoted teams.
However, in all these four wins Ronaldo had been kept in the bench and only used as a substitute in the second half.
Following United’s failure to qualify for the Champions League, there were even reports that Ronaldo might leave the club in order to play at the Europe’s top division league. Although, it is now unlikely that he would leave the club this season.
Speaking about Ronaldo’s role in the team, new coach Erik ten Hag has stated that Ronaldo’s position as a substitute worked in favour of the team.
Hag also said that Ronaldo has been omitted from the starting XI because he lacked pre-season match practice.
Furthermore, he also added that he would like to coach Ronaldo like a friend and sometimes as a teacher, given the need of the situation.
