Madhya Pradesh wins maiden Ranji Trophy, defeats Mumbai in final
Sports Desk: Madhya Pradesh (MP) have won the 2022 season of the Ranji Trophy – India’s top leg domestic cricket championship.
Madhya Pradesh defeated the heavyweights Mumbai by 6 wickets on the 5th day of the final match played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
MP’s Rajat Patidar scored the winning runs on their chase of meagre 108 runs. MP lost 4 wickets while chasing this target.
Shubham Sharma was declared the player of the match for his resounding performance with the bat in the first innings.
Meanwhile, Mumbai’s Sarfaraz Kahan has been awarded with the player of the tournament trophy for his dominant batting display all through the season.
