Sports Desk: Football talisman Lionel Messi turned 35 on his birthday on Friday, 24 June. Millions of football fans across the world inundated the social media with birthday wishes for the Argentinian legend.
Messi is regarded as one of the greatest footballers and GOATs of this generation along with Cristiano Ronaldo.
From his youngster days till his senior footballing career Messi represented the very famous Spanish football club Barcelona at various levels. He also went on to become one of the highest goal scorers for Barcelona at the domestic and global level with over 460 goals.
In this past year, Messi however left his boyhood club and moved to French club Paris Saint-Germain to compete at the Ligue 1.
During his footballing career so far, Messi has received seven Ballon d’Ors, which is the highest by any international footballer in the history of the sport.
Messi, who has had a terrific career at the club level has not however tasted much success at the international level. He has not been part of any major achievement while representing Argentina at the FIFA and continental levels, by failing to win a FIFA world cup for Argentina so far. One of his recent successes came only at last year’s Copa America where Argentina defeated Brazil in the finals.
In the hope of changing his fortunes at the international level, the 35-year-old be representing Argentina again in the FIFA world cup to be held in Qatar later this year.
Football fans across the globe are eagerly waiting to witness Messi with the blue and white shirt in the upcoming footballing carnival in Qatar.
