Global Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi begin his two-day tour to Japan by landing in Tokyo on Monday.
On the first day of his visit, PM Modi met the top business leaders and CEO’s of the country, which included representatives from companies like Suzuki, Softbank Corporation, Fast Retailing, and NEC Corporation. During this, he engaged in conversation that centred around range of topics starting from innovation to investment, technology to textiles, reforms to start-ups.
Besides, he also chaired a business roundtable meeting with the top business tycoons from 34 Japanese companies.
Upon meeting the business leaders, Modi said that Japan has great ‘enthusiasm’ towards India and ‘appreciation’ for the entrepreneurial skills among its youths.
Additionally, the Prime Minister also participated in the launch event of the United States led Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) along with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and US President Joe Biden.
Earlier in the day, he met the members of the Indian diaspora in Japan who greeted him with a grand welcome.
By extending his gratitude, Modi appreciated the Indian community in Japan for their ‘pioneering contributions in different fields’ and for remining ‘connected with their roots in India’.
On Tuesday, he will be attending the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (Quad Summit) along with the leaders of US, Japan, and Australia.
