Jet Airways flies again after three years

Business Desk: India’s leading aviation brand Jet Airways took to the skies once again after a break of three years.

On Saturday, which also happens to be its 29th birthday, its aircraft VT-SXE took off for a test flight from Hyderabad to the national capital New Delhi and created history.

In an official statement on social media along with the video of the take-off, Jet Airways stated that it was an emotional day for all its staffs who had been working hard for this day.

Further, the aviation company also expressed its gratitude to its loyal customers on this momentous occasion.

“Today, May 5, our 29th birthday, Jet Airways flew again! An emotional day for all of us who have been waiting, working, and praying for this day, as well as for Jet’s loyal customers who can’t wait for Jet to commence operations again,” it stated.

Additionally, Jet Airways posted several photographs on its social media channels of their staffs celebrating the occasion with group photographs and cake cutting moments.

Thanking its rival brand Indigo Airlines for their congratulatory tweet “Congratulations @jetairways!Wishing you all the best as you prepare for this new start,” Jet Airways in a reply said “Big thanks, @IndiGo6E! The sky just got bluer!”

Jet Airways, which was founded in 1992, is an international airlines brand from India with its headquarters in Delhi and Mumbai.

It had been one of the leading players in the Indian aviation industry for a long time, with a passenger market share of over 21 per cent till 2016.

However, due to a financial crisis and bankruptcy, all its fights were grounded in 2019 and its founder Naresh Goyal resigned from the board of directors.

After three years of waiting in the wings, Jet Airways finally flew again on its 29th birthday.
