National Desk: The Kerala state government has made the wearing of masks in public spaces mandatory again.

The decision has been taken owing to the surge in corona virus cases in the state in the recent days.

According to a latest order by the Pinarayi Vijayan led government, the violation of the same would be subjected to penalty.

Earlier, such COVID restrictions were reduced with the fall in cases. However, the situation is changing again in different parts of the country.

In addition to Kerala, a number of other states in India have also made masks mandatory in public spaces.

Meanwhile, as per the latest reports from the Health Ministry, India has recorded 2,927 new cases of the virus in the last 24 hours. This takes the total tally of cases to 4,30,65,496.
