Guwahati: The people of Assam continue to celebrate the Rongali Bihu festival and the month of Bohag with much enthusiasm. After the disruption in the usual celebrations during the last two years due to corona virus lockdowns, the Bihu pandals across the state are witnessing huge fanfare and gatherings this year.
A similar atmosphere occurred at the Beltola area of Guwahati on Friday, where a very huge crowd was seen gathering at the Beltola market for its local Bihu function where popular Assamese singer Zubeen Garg was performing.
Along with the locals of the area, people from across the Guwahati city reached Beltola to witness the performance of their favourite artists. Due to this, its main road and the area where the Bihu function was being organized was filled with hundreds and thousands of people.
In addition to just Bihu audiences, many vendors, fast food stalls along with the regular haat market gave the entire neighbourhood a celebratory look.
The three-day local Bihu function in the Beltola market begin on Thursday. Top artists from across the state and city including Zubeen Garg performed in its Bihu function. Singer Angarag Mahanta (Papon) is also likely to perform on its final day on Saturday.
