“Cancel IPL” trends on social media after Delhi players tests positive

Sports Desk: On Monday, two more players from the Indian Premier League (IPL) team Delhi Capitals tested positive for the Covid 19 virus after its physio Patrick Farhart had earlier tested positive.

According to recent reports, all the members of the Delhi team have been put on quarantine in order to stop its further spread.

Besides, every member will also be going through regular tests for the virus.

The Delhi Capitals, who are ranked at number eight in the latest league table, were to visit Pune for their next match against the Punjab Kings. This match however stands cancelled now in response to the present circumstances.

The current situation does not augur well for the IPL this season. It has come as a big blow against the smooth continuation of the present season.

Following the reports, IPL fans across the world have also sharply reacted to the news and want the remining part of the season to be cancelled.

A hashtag titled ‘Cancel IPL’ was also seen trending on social media platforms, where fans posted humorous memes and images to ridicule the IPL organizers and demand the cancellation of the remaining part of the season.

IPL 2022, which started from March 26th is scheduled to continue till 29th May.
