Former CM of Meghalaya Mukul Sangma criticizes the central government for delaying developmental projects in the North East

Regional Desk: On Tuesday, the former Chief Minister of Meghalaya Mukul Sangma criticized the central government. Sangma rebuked the central government for depriving Meghalaya by delaying developmental projects in the state.

Taking on to Twitter, he said that several projects by the Government of India, including those sanctioned by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region are lying incomplete.

He also said stated that the government has not completed a single project in the last 7 years.

“A number of projects funded by GOI including projects sanctioned by ministry of DoNER are lying incomplete – time & cost overruns just don’t bleed the public exchequer but deprive the public from benefit” he said.

“Show me one project of such scale worth comparing which has been conceptualised, sanctioned by NDA govt & completed during last 7 yrs in Meghalaya – rest we can debate later,” he added.

Sangma is the current leader of opposition in the Meghalaya State Assembly. He was the 11th Chief Minister of Meghalaya from the Indian National Congress. In 2021 he left the Congress and joined the All India Trinamool Congress.
