Chris Rock says he is ‘still processing’ what happened that night after he was slapped by Will Smith

Entertainment Desk, 31 March 2022: American stand-up comedian and actor Chris Rock performed his first show since the onstage slapping incident that took place in the 94th Academy Award ceremony held in Los Angles.

According to a report by the Daily Mail, Rock gave his first reaction to the incident and said that he was ‘still processing’ what had just happened that night.

He also said that at some point he would talk about this.

Furthermore, Rock also revealed that he has not spoken to Smith after the incident.

Reportedly, the tickets for his show which was held in United States’ Boston were fully sold out. Besides, he was welcomed with a standing ovation by the audience.

During the night of the Academy Award, the winner of the Best Actor for the film King Richard – Will Smith – landed in in a controversy for slapping Rock on stage after he made a joke about Smith’s wife while presenting an award.

Following this, Will Smith had also apologized for the incident through his Instagram account and said that any form of violence was ‘poisonous’ and ‘destructive’ and his behaviour at the Academy Awards that night was ‘unacceptable’ and ‘inexcusable’.  

Smith also added that, he reacted to the moment emotionally as his wife Jada Simth’s medical condition was too much for him to bear.

Chris Rock has not replied to his apologies until now. Neither he has logged any legal charges against the actor.   

However, the officials from the Academy Award have stated that they are deciding on the disciplinary action to be takin against Smith.

They also said that Smith could also be suspended or expelled from the Academy as a result of the incident.
