National Desk, 28 March, 2022: Various parts of India witnessed the effects of Bharat Bandh on Monday.
Due to the bandh, people’s daily routine was affected due to the closure of certain business establishments, banks and public transport. Some people could not go to their workplaces because of the unavailability of adequate public transport vehicles like buses.
The bandh has been imposed across the nation by a group of trade unions in the country. It has been declared in protest against the central government’s policies that has harmed the lives of farmers, workers and the general public.
Besides the trade unions, the bandh has also been supported by the All India Bank Employees Association. They are protesting against the government’s recent decisions of privatizing public sector banks, and the Banking Laws Amendment Bill 2021.
The bandh was publicly declared last week for two days on 28th and 29th March.
