Former Indian Cricketer Harbhajan Singh set to begin a new innings in politics

National Desk, 21 March, 2022: Former Indian cricketer Harbahajan Singh is set to plunge in the field of politics. His name was nominated by the Aam Admi Party (AAP) for the upper house of Indian parliament, or the Rajya Sabha on Monday.

Singh’s name has been nominated from the state of Punjab where five upper house seats are getting vacant in April 2022.

In addition to Singh, names of AAP leader and MLA from Delhi Raghav Chanda, educationalist Ashok Kumar Mittal, and IIT academician Sandeep Pathak has also been nominated for the other seats.

The election of the same will take place on 31st of March.

On Monday, Singh went to submit his nomination papers for the post. He was accompanied by the new Chief Minister of Punjab Bhagwant Mann and other leaders and party workers of the AAP.

Earlier, the AAP had emerged with flying colours in the Punjab elections by defeating every major political party in the state.
