Cricketer Jhulan Goswami sets new record, becomes the highest wicket-taker in Women’s World Cup history

Sports Desk, 12 March, 2022: Indian women’s cricketer Jhulan Goswami has set a new international record. The senior fast bowler has become the highest wicket taker in the history of Women’s World Cup cricket.

On Saturday, Goswami achieved this new milestone during the match against the West Indies in the ongoing ICC Women’s World Cup.

Through her first wicket in the match, she broke the record of 39 wickets set by Australian cricketer Lyn Fullston.

The 39 year old Jhulan Goswami hails from Chakdada in West Bengal. She began her cricketing career at the age of 19 when she made her first international debut against England.

Following her feat, the cricketing fraternity and her fans wished her through social media. Some of her fans have also referred her as the ‘GOAT’ (greatest of all time) of women’s fast bowling.
