Sports Desk: In a shocking news to world of cricket, legendary Australian spinner Shane Warne passed away at the age of 52 on Friday.

Warne, who was on a holiday in Thailand’s Koh Samui has reportedly died of a heart attack. This has been informed by his manger Michel Cohen.

Cohen has also stated that Warne was found unconscious in his villa and could not be brought back to normality despite the efforts of the medical personals.

Further, Cohen also added that Warne’s family members, who are looking for privacy at the moment, will provide further details about his passing away in due time.

In response to the news, personalities from the cricketing world expressed their shock and condolences. Sharing a picture with Warne on Twitter, former Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar said that Warne had a special place for India and Indians, and he would miss the iconic spinner.

“Shocked, stunned & miserable… Will miss you Warnie. There was never a dull moment with you around, on or off the field. Will always treasure our on field duels & off field banter. You always had a special place for India & Indians had a special place for you. Gone too young!” he said.

Similarly, Warne’s teammate and for Aussie wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist also expressed his sadness on the news and said that one of the main highlights of his cricketing career was to keep wicket to Warne. He also said that it was always special to watch the legend play.

“Numb. The highlight of my cricketing career was to keep wicket to Warnie. Best seat in the house to watch the maestro at work. Have often felt a tad selfish, that Heals and I pretty much exclusively are the only ones who had that thrill and pleasure at Test level. Rip Warnie,” tweeted Gilchrist.

During his cricketing career Warne represented Australia as a right arm leg-break spinner. He played around 145 test matches and 194 one day matches. The spinning icon also has 708 test wickets in his name. After retiring from international cricket, he also played at the Indian Premier League and represented Rajasthan Royals as a captain and coach.
