National Desk: On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the “Booth Vijay Sammelan” in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.

During this he took a swipe at the opposition and said that the Bharatya Janata Party (BJP) and its workers always believe in the service to people and keep the nation above the party and the party above people.

He also said that unlike the opposition parties in the state, BJP does not promote dynasticism in its politics.

The prime minister also added that the previous governments in Uttar Pradesh ran a government of mafia raj and hooliganism and tried to keep the holy city of Varanasi away from development.

Modi further stated that with the blessings of Lord Mahadev, the city has been changing since the recent past.

Moreover, he also said that he does not like to criticise anyone or be criticized. However, he felt blessed when his death was publicly wished in the city by the opposition. He added that that he would continue to serve the people of Varanasi till his death, and neither he nor the people of the city will leave him.

Meanwhile, according to recent reports, the voting turn out in the fifth phase of Uttar Pradesh assembly elections on Sunday saw a voter turn-out of 53.93 per cent.

The remaining two phases are scheduled to take place on March 3 and 7 respectively.
