Entertainment Desk, 20 February 2022: As the people of Punjab cast their votes in the assembly elections, famous Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has been forbidden from going to the polling stations in the state’s Moga constituency where his sister Malvika Sood is also a candidate representing the Congress party.
The restrictions on the actor were imposed by the by the Election Commission of India.
According to reports, the actor’s car was also seized by the authorities while he was attempting to visit a polling booth in Moga.
Restrictions were inflicted on him after accusations against him were made by a leader from a local opposition party citing that he was trying to exert influence over the voters by visiting different poll booths.
Sood, however, has denied any such allegations. He said that he only wanted to ensure fair polls as he had received information that some political parties were distributing money at some booths.
In a tweet, he said that some candidates in the Moga constituency were buying voters.
Further, in another tweet he asked the people to be careful about any such rumours and fake news.
Further, he also urged the voters to vote for the right candidate who can “bring the change for the betterment of the society”.
Meanwhile, Malvika Sood has stated that she is hopeful of winning after working a lot for the welfare of the people.
Earlier in January, she had joined the Congress party and received a ticket from the Moga seat.
