International Desk: In a recent announcement by World Health Organization (WHO), it has stated that the Omicorn variant of the COVID pandemic may not be the last one. According to Maria Van Kerkhove, who is the COVID-19 Technical Lead of WHO, the virus still has a lot of room to spread and new variants are possibly high.

Kerkhove stated this on Tuesday while attending a live streamed question and answer session on the social media channels of WHO.

Mentioning that everything is still not known about the virus, she also stated that Omicorn is not the last variant we should be concerned about, because given the degree of its spread there is a high likelihood that further variants are possible in the future.

Concerning this, Kerkhove also stated that we should increase the vaccination coverage and continue taking the measures to reduce its spread.
