The state administration is vociferous about the state`s economic growth, but the CAG states a different story.
The CAG report says, only 62% of the budgeted allotment is spent for different developmental projects. It is not the case of single specific department. Every department, the CAG report says, the departments under all the ministries have failed to submit and process their budgeted financial requirements.
The Finance Minister of Assam, Ajanta Neog has directed all the concerned departments to activate their expenditure process within the budget provisions. Whereas some of the departments have countered saying that despite repeated reminders they have not received the funds allotted to them within the budget.
Some of the MLAs have also complained that they have not received the fund they used to receive earlier.
